About Hi Tech Motorsport

Director of Hi-Tech Motorsport, Mick Mobberley, has enjoyed a vast motorsport career. Micks career began back in 1961 at the age of 17 where he began at Motor Racing Services working for Tony Marsh before moving to Midland Racing Partnership in 1963. During his time at MRP Mick gained experience running Formula 2 & Formula Junior for drivers such as Richard Attwood & John Surtees.

Mick went from MRP to work for Lola cars. While working for Lola Cars he travelled worldwide to Argentina & South Africa to prepare T70 sports cars for events such as the Kyalami 9 hours. Along with his work for Lola Cars he also carried out work for David Prophet Racing, preparing his Ford GT40 for races throughout Europe.

In 1986 Mick began Hi-Tech Motorsport and with his endless car knowledge he began running Ian Flux and Sean Walker in Sports 2000. During his time with Ian Flux they won the Sports 2000 championship, before Hi-Tech moved onto running Group C Cars and British Formula 3 to name but a few.

Hi-Tech then began focusing on engine tuning and providing a rolling road service to all types of performance and race cars, specialising in engine tuning and diagnostics.

Over the last 8 years Hi-Tech Motorsport have been busy re-developing their race team with Miles Griffiths at the forefront of the movement to the circuits, whilst still maintaining the rolling road and tuning area of the business. Since Miles’ involvement, Hi-Tech have successfully prepared Historic Grand Prix cars, Formula Juniors & Historic Formula 2 cars as well as various Historic Sports cars. Our major successes include preparing the HGPCA Championship 2013 winning car, 2014 Formula Junior Lurani Championship winning car, multiple Formula Junior Class Championship winning cars, Modena Cento Ore Rally winning car 2018, Ford GT40 podium at Spa “6” hour 2018 as well as multiple race wins at the Goodwood Revival.

Miles began his racing career under Mick’s guidance at 10 years of age racing Mini Stox before moving onto Formula Ford, Sports 2000 and in more recent years driving for John Bond-Smith in the HGPCA and Philip Walker in Motor Racing Legends. Miles’ passion for racing has encouraged him to prepare racing cars to exceptional standards and with his hands on experience often drives customer’s cars at Test Days and Race Meetings to encourage development and set-up of the cars.
